The similarities and differences between Clu and Clu.exe
Also known as a general Personality mapping section.
-This Clu still came about via being a digital clone created by Flynn and was going to be the admin in charge when Flynn was away.
-That time as Admin was very short lived due to Alan looking for Tron and calling bullshit when Flynn tried to remain secretive.
-Because Clu was not left in an admin role he is not as uptight and distant as his canon counterpart as he is basically just another Navi and doesn't have an entire population looking to him to keep them alive and well as the Grid becomes overcrowded and resources limited.
-Despite his unorthodox origins Clu still has the Navi coding and thus has the ability to adapt and evolve in his own way as he lives and experiences new things as an actual Navi and not a glorified Admin program. This has led to him pretty much going as opposite as he can get from Admin like functions and taken more after the creativity and curiosity of Flynn. Thus making him more of a tinkerer and builder of things. Which likely is a bonus to keeping Tron happy since new and shiny things for him to break.
-Tron having the direct contact that he has with Alan before and after the Grid incident, as well as not being left to try and stabilize and protect a system and an admin that are both teetering dangerously. (Also thus avoiding the whole Rinzler episode and the mindbreak that causes) He and Clu have a more relaxed sort of friendship. As well as Tron showing his more derp beta side when he is not actively patrolling his systems for threats and such. This has led to Clu also being more comfortable being a derp cat around certain individual.
-Still manipulative in some regards Clu is more say it with blunt honesty because using doublespeak takes time that could be used to upgrade or improve something. Of course this means that people forget he can be a manipulative little shit until they suddenly realize they got talked into doing things for him without actually agreeing to do so.
-His dramatics and temper flails are also less dangerous and stay more along the lines of the whole off kilter inventor who you just have to let flail and rant themselves out before they come back to rational and calm levels.
-Clu has some resentment towards his user for well being pretty much abandoned and ignored when the ISOs had popped up. He gets small dosages of revenge for that by being the most micromanaging and obnoxious Navi he can be to Flynn. With five in the morning wake up calls and constant reminders that Flynn has to do things now.
-Being there and being part of Little Flynn's (AKA Sam) life and growing up has also helped move him away from certain bad habits of his canon self, that only then got replaced by other bad Flynn habits considering when he wasn't bothering Flynn like a nagging mother in law he was usually in the company of the younger user and helping him out. Or both bothering Flynn to pay attention to them.
-Clu still considers ISOs weird and logically should not be able to even exist, but that doesn't stop him from sharing notes and debates with those that actually can keep up with his moodswings and rambles about architect and blueprints.
-If you actually want to make certain that Clu is paying attention to you, it is best to make certain he does not have his helmet rezzed up. Though mostly used as a safety precaution because having to get your face recompiled because you took an explosion to it gets old after a while, Clu has gotten in the habit of using the reflective surface as a video and picture display for his blueprints and what his prototypes should theoretically do. Which also means he could completely miss entire conversations if people don't realize he's not paying any sort of attention to anything outside of what is infront of his eyes.
